At the same time, as part of Faro airport’s development
plan, new curb side accesses to the passenger terminal
were finished and operational at the beginning of the
IATA summer 2012.
In 2012, the airport was the recipient of the award in
the category of Best Improvement (European Region)
under the Airport Service Quality (ASQ) programme,
developed in collaboration with the ACI – Airports
Council International.
