Among the ANA Group airports, Lisbon airport’s
performance shines through, with its year-on-year
growth of 3.5%, reaching the 15 million passenger
mark for the first time. Porto airport passed the 6
million passenger mark with an 0.8% growth rate, while
Faro airport registered a 1% growth rate, serving 5.7
million passengers.
In Madeira airports, year-on-year demand fell 4.6%;
aircraft movements dropped by 6.1%. On the supply
side, the 3.1% decline in the number of seats resulted
in a 1.0 p.p. drop in the average load factor.
In 2012 the number of passengers on TAP Portugal,
easyJet and transavia.com rose, as shown on the fol-
lowing chart. The six main carriers and the number of
passengers are listed here.
Nine of the ten fastest-growing passenger routes
were operated out of Lisbon airport, and five of them
were new routes, as shown in the table which follows.
