ANNUAL REPORT ‘12
BUSINESS REVIEW
47
Passenger traffic by airline type presented a mixed
picture. There was considerable growth in the low-
cost segment (10.7%), with 0.4 million passen-
gers. The traditional segment grew by 1.0%, or 184
thousand passengers, while the charter segment
continued to decline (down by 9.5%), carrying 1.6
million passengers in 2012. The share of this last
segment, thus, continues to fall at the ANA Group’s
airports.
In 2012, passenger traffic in the Group by markets is
represented here.
The Portuguese, UK, Spanish, French and German
markets together accounted for about 65.0% of the
total. Domestic traffic continued to represent a signifi-
cant slice of the market (17.0%), although this was
down from 2011 (17.8%). This decrease represents
218 thousand fewer passengers in this segment.
