ANNUAL REPORT ‘12
BUSINESS REVIEW
46
In terms of the distribution of ANA Group passengers
across the various traditional carrier alliances, Star
Alliance maintains its dominant position (with its
year-on-year market share rising by 1%), while the
other alliances continue to have relatively low market
shares. In fact, the second most representative alliance
– One World – lost 2% of the market share, due to the
performance of British Airways and Iberia. It was the
non-alliance companies who grabbed the attention by
increasing their market share by more than 2%, a
growth boosted by the start-up of the Emirates airline
operations at Lisbon airport.
